Francesco Gaetano Fazzi is a Swiss legal and policy professional with expertise in banking regulation, AML/CTF compliance, sanctions, international investment law, export controls, data protection, and science & technology policy. He has lived and worked across Asia—including China, Singapore, and Japan—for over three years.
Francesco is a member of the KPMG China Desk and the Legal Committee of the Swiss-Chinese Chamber of Commerce. His academic background spans law, business, science, and public policy, holding an LL.M. from Peking University, an MBA from the University of Oxford, and a Master in Public Policy from the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy (NUS)—where he was the school’s first Swiss scholar.
Earlier in his career, he served in various official roles within the Swiss government, including law enforcement and military service. He holds two Swiss VET degrees and earned a BSc in Chemistry from the University of Zurich (graduating top of his class), completing a thesis in medicinal chemistry. He also undertook studies at the Swiss Military Academy and ETH Zurich.
