Prior to joining CSEM, he held senior technical and leadership positions at start-ups and major global firms such as Magic Leap and Intel. In these roles, he drove innovative advancements in nanophotonics, optical sensing, and augmented reality, significantly influencing industry developments.
 
Rolf earned his PhD in Experimental Physics from the University of Basel, building upon studies in physics and economics at the Universities of Bayreuth, St Andrews, and Heidelberg.
