Chris has a joint appointment as a Health Governance Specialist at both UNDP and WHO Viet Nam. His principal area of focus is on leading a WHO/UNDP Joint Programme on Access to Quality Medical Products. His portfolio also encompasses quality and patient safety, health system anti-corruption, and the governance of health system digital transformation. A medical doctor by training, he has worked across clinical medicine, clinical governance, health innovation, and both public and private health service development in Ireland before shifting his focus to international public health.

He has an eclectic academic background and is an alumnus of the University of Galway, the London School of Economics, the London School of Hygiene & Tropical Medicine, and theStanford University-affiliated BioInnovate Ireland Fellowship.
