Principal Country Economist, ADB Viet Nam Resident Mission.
Ba Hung Nguyen
Mr. Hung is the Principal Country Economist based in the ADB Viet Nam Resident Mission in Ha Noi since July 2023. He oversees macroeconomic monitoring with quarterly release of forecast for Viet Nam economy. He delivers knowledge program of policy advisories to support appropriate stakeholders in the country in public sector management, financial sector development, and trade and supply chains topics. He also supports the Country Programming Team to formulate the assistance pipeline of ADB in
the country in collaboration with relevant ministries and agencies. Prior to joining the Viet Nam Resident Mission, he was a Senior Regional Cooperation and Integration Specialist in the Sustainable
Development and Climate Change Department, Trade Specialist in the Public Management, Financial Sector and Trade Division, and Regional Cooperation Specialist in the Regional Cooperation and
Operations Coordination Division in the Southeast Asia Department. He joined ADB in May 2008.
Prior to joining ADB, he worked at the Economics Department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Viet Nam on cooperation initiatives in the Mekong subregion involving Viet Nam, as well as economic
diplomacy efforts.
Mr. Hung holds a BA International Relations degree from the Institute for International Relations, Viet Nam, and an MA International Studies and Diplomacy degree from the School of Oriental and African Studies, University of London, United Kingdom.
